Authorship and Contributorship Policy
Introduction
The ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal adheres to established standards of transparency and best practices in scholarly publishing, as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). This policy delineates the requirements for authorship and contributorship, ensuring precise and transparent attribution of contributions to published works. As an open-access journal operating under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC-BY-SA), authors retain copyright while granting broad permissions for distribution and reuse of their articles.
Criteria for Authorship
Authorship of a manuscript submitted to ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal should reflect substantial contributions to the research's conception, design, execution, or interpretation. To qualify as an author, individuals must fulfill all the following criteria:
-
Substantial Contributions: Authors must make significant intellectual contributions to the manuscript, including but not limited to the study's conception or design, data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and drafting or revising the manuscript for critical intellectual content.
-
Approval of Final Version: All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and take responsibility for its content.
-
Accountability: Authors must be prepared to publicly explain and defend the research findings if required.
Contributorship Statement
To enhance transparency and avoid misunderstandings, ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal may request a contributorship statement with the manuscript submission. This statement should clearly identify each author's contributions to the research. Although this statement will not be published, it must accurately reflect the individual roles played by each author.
Dispute Resolution
In cases of authorship disputes, the editorial board of ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal will follow a structured process to investigate and resolve the issue. The involved parties must provide evidence of their contributions to the research. The journal may consult COPE or other relevant organizations to ensure a fair and unbiased resolution. ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal will not mediate or be liable for personal disputes between authors.
Changes in Authorship
Requests for modifications to authorship, including additions, deletions, or reordering of authors after manuscript submission, will be considered only under exceptional circumstances. A written explanation from all authors must accompany such requests involved detailing the reasons for the proposed changes. The editorial board will evaluate the request and may seek guidance from the journal’s advisors and COPE as necessary.
Honorary and Ghost Authorship
ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal does not condone honorary (gift) authorship or ghost authorship (uncredited contributions). Individuals who have made only minor contributions to the research should be acknowledged in the acknowledgment section rather than listed as authors. The journal is committed to preventing and addressing honorary and ghost authorship instances.
Declaration of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their research in their submissions to the ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal. Conflicts of interest may include financial interests, affiliations, or personal relationships that could compromise the work’s impartiality and credibility. The journal encourages full transparency in these disclosures.

Authors are required to adhere to the ethical guidelines established by the ALFIQH Islamic Law Review Journal and prevailing ethical standards in their field. This includes obtaining appropriate permissions for using copyrighted materials, securing informed consent from human subjects, and ensuring the ethical treatment of animals in research.
